Hi, my name is Kevin Welsh, owner of Speedy Blinds. I am married with one adorable baby (as seen in the commercial) and one very furry cat named Cuddles. I spent my first 10 years out of high school doing HVAC work. I always wanted to have my own business, so I started Speedy Blind Cleaning in March of 2005. After a few months of blind cleaning and repair I realized that Hunter Douglas blinds were the best manufactured and the easiest to find replacement parts. So, I decided to become a Hunter Douglas dealer. Why not try to give more people a chance to see that they can have the best for not that much more money. Also, selling custom window treatments was a lot like what I did before: taking measurements, ordering, and then finally coming back later and installing what I measured.
In August of 2006 we changed our name to Speedy Blinds. There are two reasons for this. One reason was everyone was calling me Speedy Blinds already. The second reason was so that everyone else could see that we do everything with blinds.
As of March 2008 a few exciting things happened. Speedy Blinds has become the first company in the country to become a Hunter Douglas Certified Dealer. Also, we will no longer be offering blind cleaning due to the fact we have become too busy in other aspects of the business. It has been too consuming of storage space and time to keep up with the maintenance of the equipment.
I run my business on a few main principles:
1. You want what you want. Meaning if the project is $50 or $5000 it is important to me to make sure that you are happy. It is easier to do this with my company over others because I am the one who will be there when you order the blinds and I will be there when they are installed. I make sure everything is right.
2. You don't have to buy the most expensive product for it to look nice. A lot of this depends on taste and how you are going to use the room. There are many different products with Hunter Douglas and all have their strong points.
3. I try to lead you down the right path. I will show you different products upgrades that will cause less hassle down the road.
